Audio: An intro on how I build worlds

Along with heaps of tangents on just how messy my writing process really is

Hello, Misfits & Daydreamers!

It's been a few weeks since I updated last. My apologies for that—I am really, really, really trying to finish Witchlight. Because if I don’t soon, then the book will get delayed. Again. And while I definitely said that was okay in my last newsletter, I am personally sick of making fans wait.

So basically everything in my life is on hold! No appointments, no travel, no gaming, no stopping until this book is finished. WISH ME LUCK.

Now onto the main event! I have another audio post this time, and I’m trying out Substack’s built-in transcription. So if you’re someone who reads instead of listens (or ode both), then please let me know how well that works for you. I want to make sure I am adequately meeting everyone’s needs.

Like before, I am answering a reader question, also from my AMA on

, where @Alysha asks:

Hi!! I love the Witchlands series and your development of that entire world. So, my question is: where do you start when thinking about world building?

Listen (or read) to get my very rambling, probably too-detailed answer! And thanks as always for being here!

P.S. The map on the audio image is from my WIP Cartwright mentioned in the recording. 😉
