These are great gift ideas for me to give to myself... LOL! Thanks for the recommendations! I splurged on a Freewrite last year and I like the IDEA of it a whole lot. Unfortunately, the e-ink screen struggles to keep up if you happen to type fast. This throws me off when I use it. I feel like I could get used to that lag between my typing and the screen so I haven't given up yet, but thought I'd share in case anyone reads the comments and is considering a Freewrite.
I'm sorry Cricket immediately got sick upon starting daycare. My 3-year-old has been in daycare part time since he was 18 months old as a way to help with speech and social skills. We joke that he collects new viruses like scout badges, but on the plus side his immune system has gotten stronger thanks to the constant plague wave?? Hang in there! And btw I use Hyland's Night-time Cough/Cold for Owen when he's sick and while it seems to do nothing for the cough or cold, it DOES help him sleep through the night despite cough and congestion. There's a whole lot of nothing out there for kids under a certain age when they're sick and this is the one thing that's seemed to help, mainly because he sleeps!
This is so helpful!! Thank you! The Freewrite tip + the cough/cold tip! We bought the Hyland's Nighttime medicine, but she hates the taste and I wasn't sure it was worth forcing it on her...
But it sounds like it's worth forcing it. :P So I will definitely make sure she gets that tonight! Thank you, Mari!
The JOY when they finally hit 6yo and can start taking dimetapp! There is some actual medicine for cold/coughs for 4-5yos, but before that it's indeed a whole lotta nothing 😭
I've heard that kids who don't go to day care just get to do that virus-badge-collection in Kindergarten (which my kids did!). 🥴 So unless they're never in group settings at all, you can at least feel better that your transition to school should be easier.
The way I just read this whole post just thinking of what to buy myself 😂😂 thank you so much for putting all this together!! Hope the household gets well soon 🥹💜

Hahaha, I relate!!!
MISS SCARLET AND THE DUKE!!!!!! I love love LOVE that show and am DYING for William and Eliza to make out already lmao
I’m so invested in the ship 😭
I’ve used 4thewords for years! It was how I hit 100k words during NaNoWriMo 2019.
Oh wow, 100k?! AMAZING!!!!
In KM Weiland's gift round up (https://www.helpingwritersbecomeauthors.com/the-best-christmas-gifts-this-writer-has-ever-received-2/) she mentioned Eccolo journals, which are slightly cheaper 😂 I love great journals and can also be happy with $1 spiral notebooks (the 25¢ ones don't have a stiff enough cardboard back anymore :-\ ).
Oooh, thank you for the link! I always love another gift guide...so I can treat myself. 😅
