I have my hand over my chin in this photo because I had a GIANT CYSTIC ZIT. Talk about not feeling good enough…

1. Latest News from the Desk of Sooz

I’m off to New York Comic Con right now! And I hope I will see some of you there!

Here’s my schedule:

  • FRIDAY, 2:00-3:00 PM - ARC Signing in the Tor Booth - Witchlands books also for sale!

  • FRIDAY, 5:15-6:15 PM - Leaning Into the Witchy Panel, Lit Room 1B-0

  • FRIDAY, 6:30-7:15 PM - Post-Panel Autographing, Hall A, Tables 3/4 - Luminaries ARCs with purchase!

Hooray! I’ve never been to NYCC before, and I cannot express how excited I am to be with my nerdy people. 😍 Not to mention, I GET TO MEET MY NEWEST EDITOR IN PERSON FOR THE FIRST TIME!! 🥳

@Hannah asked:

What helps you battle imposter syndrome or self-doubt?

Oh boy, Hannah. Oh boy.

I tried to make a video about this, but I ended up rambling and backtracking and being generally useless. So to the keyboard I turn in hopes that I can wrangle my thoughts and feeelings into something useful for you.

I was 8 days late thanks to a freaking onslaught of mishaps in my life. It was an unnecessarily stressful time, and I existed in a state of cortisol-flavored terror for several days over how much I feared I was inconveniencing my editor.

Then…lo and behold, I had to make things more complicated over this past weekend.

Basically, my wonderful critique partner (Erin Bowman) read Luminaries 2 really fast. Like really fast, and she had a few small notes that I thought would elevate the book.
